About Rabbi Ofer
Rabbi Ofer Davidov has served as a rabbi and cantor for 25 years. At 23 he founded Congregation Nachalat Yosef Or Avner in Queens, New York, a shul that today has more than 300 members.
In business he has been an eBay jewelry pioneer since 1999. He made aliyah with his family and teaches in his community in Neve Ofer, Tel Aviv.
Today he shares God's wisdom on faith, health and wealth with the whole world, one short lesson at a time.

The pioneer
The internet was so young that Google's founders had just tried to sell their company to Yahoo for $1 million, and Yahoo said no. Yahoo was the front door to the web, and that's where he started: among the first to sell fine diamond jewelry online on eBay, opening a door between 47th Street and the internet. eBay brought him in to help bring the Diamond District online.

Took part in the World Conference of Bukharian rabbis, alongside hundreds of rabbis from around the world, in the presence of the Rishonim LeZion: Rav Ovadia Yosef zt"l, Rav Mordechai Eliyahu zt"l, Rav Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron and Rav Shlomo Amar. Received at the President's Residence in Jerusalem with the World Presidium of the World Congress of Bukharian Jews.

From One Shul to the Whole World

Newly married, before his first child was born, Rabbi Ofer opened Congregation Nachalat Yosef Or Avner in Queens, New York, with his own eBay earnings. He served as its rabbi, chazan and Torah reader, unpaid. The community merited to bring in two Sifrei Torah.
Nachalat Yosef: for his grandfather, Yosef. Or Avner: in honor of the father of a dear friend whose generosity helped build it. Today it carries the name Od Yosef Chai.

Today
The shul still stands, with more than 300 members.
I founded the shul at 23 and led it for 13 years. Then, following the guidance of the gedolim, I made aliyah — to be beside my parents, to raise my children in the Land of Israel, and to prepare for a bigger mission. The shul I founded keeps growing, carried on by those who continue its path. And Hashem showed me why I came: my twin sons, at 13, are about to complete the entire Talmud Bavli — and the Torah I once taught to a congregation of hundreds now goes out in 10 languages to billions of people.
Now
The same Torah, in his own voice, goes out to 4 billion people in 10 languages.
